21 Day Prayer & Fast 2018: Day 12

Dishonest money dwindles away,

but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow. - Prov. 13:11 (NIV)

Did you know that just $100 a month invested at the historical return of the stock market will turn into a million dollars over the average person’s working life?

This devotion is not about making money, but about the power of consistency. A little money invested consistently over time turns into a lot!! The same is true of other habits and disciplines in our life, and in fact, the small consistent actions produce far greater results than doing a lot of something once in a while.

Small amounts of consistent exercise everyday produces more results than a massive workout every once in a while and is less painful (trust me).  Small consistent healthy choices in your eating is far better for your health and weight than going on a crazy binge starving yourself and sending your body into shock.

A few minutes spent everyday with God produces a far healthier relationship with Him than trying to catch up on it all in one day. Can you imagine if you only talked to your spouse or kids once or twice a month? It wouldn’t lead to very healthy relationships.

The things in our lives that become the most successful, whether it be our finances, our health, our relationship, career growth, etc., are the things that we invest in consistently. When we make something consistent in our routine, it becomes a habit, and habits that we do consistently actually take less energy and effort on our part. Win-win!

So as you set goals for yourself, make the steps achievable and consistent and you will set yourself up for success!
