“Breathe” by Priscilla Shirer. One of the greatest challenges among women in our culture is taking time to stop and cease from all the activities and busyness and just breathe. We are in bondage to busyness. We constantly strive to complete the limitless to-do lists that hinder us from experiencing all that God has for us. We miss the moments because we rush ahead to the next thing. By neglecting time for tranquility, serenity, and repose, we limit our Christlikeness and miss out on some of God's greatest gifts. It is time for us to breathe and build margin into our lives for God. In the Old Testament, God instituted principles and laws that would transform the Israelites' mindset. He didn't just want them legally free; He wanted them to be able to walk in the freedom and enjoy it. So God gave them many gifts, including boundaries in which to enjoy those gifts. Sabbath was intended as a gift, and it is still a gift to us today. If you are weary, worn out, and exhausted the concept of Sabbath will change your life.

Mothering boys is one of the most challenging things you will ever do, and can be utterly exhausting at times. So if your boys push you to the max at times, you are not alone. Moms of Boys / Men, you can do this. You have what it takes. And you don’t have to travel this road by yourself— New York Times best-selling author, Lisa Bevere and author Havilah Cunington are here to help. They are admittedly not perfect moms of the eight boys between them, but with God’s help, have done it well—and want to share what they've learned with us. They will tackle just about every topic imaginable, including identity, discipline, dating, schoolwork, sexuality, purity, and more, sharing the many tools they've picked up along the way to help us raise our boys into men of God. Together, we won’t just survive motherhood—we’ll thrive in it.

Ambassadors of Joy

Thursdays, 9:30 AM, Punta Gorda Area, Childcare available at Punta Gorda campus.
Starts 1/31/19.
Leader: Joan Pfeiffer, jgpfeiff@outlook.com
Do you long for something more in your relationship with God? The good news is that “something more” does not mean “doing more.” God is not waiting for you to get your spiritual life “right.” He wants to be with you right where you are. The real question is not “What does God want from you?” but “What does God want for you?” Sharon Jaynes understands what it’s like to have a “glory ache”— a longing to experience God’s presence on a daily basis. She also knows how easily working for God can get in the way of intimacy with God. And she’s discovered that we tend to make our faith journey much too hard.  In A Sudden Glory, Sharon uses Scripture and story to help you erase the line between your “spiritual life” and your “daily life” as you enter the sanctuary of God’s presence even in the middle of your busy, messy day. Here you will find your eyes opened to moments of sudden glory in which the Creator assures you of His love as you live and move and have your being in Him. Here you will discover true freedom — the freedom of experiencing God in a deeper and more intimate way than ever before. As  we learn to see the “glory moments” in our own lives, we can become Ambassadors of Joy, sharing with others.

The opening lines and chapters of Genesis teach us fundamental truths about God. We watch Him bring light after darkness, order after chaos, and rest after toil—all through the power of His Word. In Jen Wilkin’s “God of Creation” we will dive into the first 11 chapters of Genesis by following three critical stages of understanding: comprehension, interpretation, and application. In this 10-week study we will revisit familiar stories and historical figures, challenge your basic knowledge, and discover deeper meanings in the text. As God reveals Himself through Scripture, we can only begin to understand ourselves when we first glimpse the character, attributes, and promises of our Creator.
